With the new update, Genshin Impact has finally released the Chasm, a new explorable area where travelers will find many quests and challenges. However, before you can deep dive into the depths of this place, you’ll first have to break the seal that blocks the path.
Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering is the second part in the world quest series The Chasm Devlers and the quest you need to complete to finally enter the Chasm.
Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering
To start the quest, teleport to Lingju Pass since this is the closest Waypoint to the Chasm and then make your way down, following the navigation. Soon enough, you’ll arrive at the outer area of the Chasm where you’ll have to find an NPC named Muning.
As you approach Muning, while he’ll recognize you, he will ask you for documents giving you permission to enter the Chasm. These are documents that you will not have since you were hired by an entrepreneur interested in mining. This will lead Muning to be apprehensive but he’ll instruct you to speak to Zhiqiong, an adventurer hired by the Qixing to explore the Chasm as she grew up in the mines. Before you leave, however, Muning will give you a set of instructions. Things not to do in the Chasm. Though he’ll relay these instructions in a strange manner, almost as if he wants you to do the things he’s telling you not to.
The most important of these instructions is that the traveller, under no circumstances, should go near the Seven-Star Array. This was a shield cast over the Chasm by the Qixing and disrupting it would mean breaking the law.
The Real Meaning Behind Muning’s Words
Once you’re done talking to Muning, find the adventurer named Zhiqiong. She will be your guide and explain what you need to do in order to break the law and enter the Chasm.
Yes, despite Muning’s many protests and warnings, he actually wants you to go into the Chasm. But there’s a reason as to why he had to lie.
It seems that while the miners were working in the Chasm, they dug up something strange. Due to this, the entire area had to be sealed off. The Qixing, however, could not freely investigate the matter as they didn’t want information to spread and worry the citizens. Thus, Muning gave you all the information you needed to enter the Chasm in form of warnings. With the note that he provided, you now have permission to enter the area and explore it. However, before you can jump in, the first thing you’ll have to do is break the seal.
The Seven-Star Array is made up of five Bedrock Keys. The only way through is to destroy the keys.
But before you start looking for the keys, first head down to a warehouse to obtain a Lumenstone. This item will be needed as you go deeper into the Chasm. Once at the warehouse, you’ll have to fight off a group of Treasure Hoarders.
The Bedrock Keys
After you’ve gotten the Lumenstone, Zhiqiong will lead you to the first Bedrock Key.
On either side of the Bedrock Key, you’ll find two cage-shaped structures. You have to use them to break the key. First, you need to activate the cage-shaped structures. To do so, you’ll need a Geograna. These are star shaped objects that can be obtained after breaking golden-brown crystal formations. You’ll find two of them near the Bedrock Key itself, one for each of the structures.
Break open the crystal formations and bring the Geograna to the cage-shaped structure. Once it’s activated, use a normal attack on it. Every time you attack the structure, it will launch a beam at the Bedrock Key, thus bringing it down. The structure itself will be destroyed. Now, go to the second structure and repeat the process.
After the first Bedrock Key has been destroyed, Zhiqiong will create a small map on which she’ll mark the locations of the three other Keys. She, however, cannot go with you since she has to guard the warehouse from which you got the Lumenstone.
The First Bedrock Key
When you head to the nearest Bedrock Key, you’ll find it near an abandoned warehouse. Two of the cage-shaped structures will be suspended in air and you’ll need to use the nearby lift to reach them. The final cage-shaped structure will be located in the warehouse itself.
However, before you can get to work, you’ll be attacked by Treasure Hoarders. Defeating them shouldn’t be an issue. But once you’re done, you’ll find out that the hoarders are just Milileth in disguise. Since you attacked them, you’ll now have to help them. That, however, is a quest for another time.
Now, unlike the first Bedrock Key, to bring down this one, you need to use the cage-shaped structures from highest to lowest. Each attack, will bring down the key further until its destroyed. The first cage-shaped structure you need to go to is the one on the left side of the key. This is the only structure where the lift stops right next to it instead of passing it by. Grab a Geograna from a nearby crystal formation and climb onto the lift. When it stops next to the cage-shaped structure, activate it and then quickly use a normal attack. If angled right, the attack should hit the Bedrock Key and bring it down a bit.
Head to the second lift and grab a Geograna. Here, things will be a bit tricky since the lift doesn’t stop by the structure. Position your character and once the structure has been activated, attack. One normal attack should be enough and the key will come down further.
For the last and easy part, go to the warehouse and repeat the process. The key will be destroyed.
The Second Bedrock Key
To find the next Bedrock Key, head to the Waypoint near the area known as ‘The Surface’ on the map. As you follow the path, you’ll find yourself heading towards an abandoned mine shaft. Go past the post (and the many treasure hoarders in the area) and head into the cave. Your path will be blocked by a spider and its web so get rid of it. Over here, any kind of attacks will work but ranged ones are recommended.
As you go further in, you’ll find yourself in a cavern with the Bedrock Key inside along with three cage-shaped structures. One of the structures will be on the top and this is the one you need to start with. Activate it using a Geograna and then move down based on height.
The Third Bedrock Key
Use the navigation to find the final key (at least the final one marked on the map). For this one, you’ll have to use four cage-shaped structures, all of them at different elevations and on opposite sides.
Before you start activating them, however, it is advise you get rid of the Hilichurls in the area as they’ll make the process harder than it should be.
Following the same process as before, use the windcurrent to glide up to the structure located on the highest elevation. Using the Geograna next to it, activate it and then attack to bring down the key. Then, use the wind current to cross over to the other side where the next structure is. You’ll have to repeat this same process another two times before the Bedrock Key is destroyed.
The Final Key
As stated before, there are a total of five Bedrock Keys that make up the Seven Star-Array. With the help of Zhiqiong, you’ve only destroyed four of them which means that one more remains.
Head back to the warehouse where you left Zhiqiong and she’ll give you the location of the final Key. From here, teleport to the Statue of the Seven in the Chasm. If you haven’t unlocked it yet, you have some running and gliding ahead of you.
Once you’re in the area, you’ll find a single Treasure Hoarder. Defeat him and then head towards the wooden platform which will break, leading a path underground. From here, glide down.
Follow the path before you and at the end of it, you’ll find the first cage-structure, a Geograna near it. Activate it and hit it to make the key come down. Now, jump down to the cave floor where you’ll have to fight two Geovishap Hatchlings. Once they have been defeated, a Geovishap will appear.
Defeat the enemies and then use the final cage-structure to destroy the last Bedrock Key.
A cutscene will begin and the Seven Star-Array will disappear, your mission accomplished.
