Wavebreaker’s Fin Stats and Passive

Despite being a 4-star weapon, the Wavebreaker’s Fin has a high base ATK, reaching 620 at level 90. It also has an ATK substat which caps at 13.8%.

Its passive, Watatsumi Wavewalker increases the Elemental Burst DMG of a character by 0.12% for every point of the team’s combined Energy Recharge. A maximum of 40% Elemental Burst DMG can be achieved this way. This maximum number only increases with each refinement and at R5 it provides an 80% increase.

Who Can Use the Wavebreaker’s Fin?

Due to its high base ATK as well as ATK substat, the Wavebreaker’s Fin is suited for characters that play the role of the Sub-DPS or Burst DPS in your team. This weapon allows them to deal high DMG numbers while your main DPS is down.

Following are the characters that can truly utilize this weapon.

Xiangling

Xiangling is a free character that players can obtain from the Spiral Abyss. As a Pyro polearm user, her main DMG comes from her elemental skills. When paired with the Wavebreaker’s Fin, the damage of her burst Pyronado will really benefit from the weapon passive. This is especially true if the ER of the entire team combined is above 260. With the release of the Emblem of Severed Fate artifact, this is made easier to achieve.

Shenhe

As a Cryo support, Shenhe can really benefit the Wavebreaker’s Fin. Not only does it have a high base ATK but the passive also increases burst damage significantly. Just keep in mind to always have a good amount of ER among your team members.

Conclusion

Currently, out of all the 4-stars, the Wavebreaker’s Fin provides the highest ATK making it a good weapon to have in your roster. However, while the passive does boost a character’s burst, you also need to maintain a good ER level so that the increase is significant. It is recommended that at R1, the entire teams ER should at least be around 260 or above. This means you’ll really need to play around with artifacts and priortise accordingly.

But if you do manage to achieve this ER level, your team will definitely benefit with this weapon.
